Learn to Swim 1 – Goldfish
30 Minute Class
The Goldfish level is the first stage of our Learn to Swim program. Children build the foundations of swimming, including breath control and regulation, body position, flotation and buoyancy. Propulsion is introduced through correct kicking, alongside early arm stroke development. Water safety and survival skills such as back floating are taught, and children begin kicking on their back. Freestyle is gradually introduced in a fun and supportive environment.

Learn to Swim 2 – Angelfish
30 Minute Class
Angelfish is the second Learn to Swim level and focuses on refining core swimming skills. Children further develop breath regulation, freestyle and kicking technique, with increased emphasis on correct arm stroke development. Back kicking is reinforced, and water safety and survival skills continue to be practised. Once children are ready, side breathing is introduced, supporting progression toward stronger freestyle technique.

Learn to Swim 3 – Clownfish
30 Minute Class
Clownfish is the third Learn to Swim level, where children develop side breathing and progress toward correct freestyle technique. Children begin swimming up to 10 metres across the pool unassisted, building confidence and endurance. Backstroke skills are introduced by integrating backstroke arms with back kicking, supporting stroke variety and improved water control.

Learn to Swim 4 - Rainbow Fish
30 Minute Class
Rainbow Fish is the final Learn to Swim level. Children swim up to 10 metres unassisted while focusing on correct body and head positioning, continuous freestyle arms and controlled breathing. Backstroke technique is further developed with the aim of swimming solo across the pool. Correct breaststroke kick is introduced, supporting readiness for continued swimming progression beyond Learn to Swim.
Development

Pre-Squad Development 1 – Stingray (Pre-Squad 1)
30 Minute Class
In the Stingray level, swimmers develop all four strokes while improving breathing technique and overall stamina. Children gain increased confidence in the pool and begin swimming with greater control and efficiency. This level supports swimmers as they transition from Learn to Swim into a more structured training environment, helping prepare them for future progression through to squad level.

Development 2 – Swordfish (Pre-Squad 2)
30 Minute Class
The Swordfish Development group helps swimmers build on their skills by refining all four strokes, developing technique and improving fitness and endurance. Swimmers work towards greater consistency, confidence and independence in the water while preparing for the demands of the 25m pool and progressing towards the next stage of our squad pathway.
